Dynamic Workspace  (33K)

Vinay Mutha writes: "Smalltalk allows one to execute code, for experimentation, from just
about any text editor in the system. The official "workspace" is simply
an empty window with a text editor. While more convenient for code
snippets than are class browsers and the like, there are still serious
problems with the workspace. VisualWorks does not give you the option to
save a workspace. If you want to keep a workspace around, you have to
save the image with that window open. The Dynamic Workspace is designed
to eliminate these kinds of problems. It gives you a mechanism to create
a persistent workspace that can be used to save and manage in a
organized fashion, the named code snippets that would normally be
executed in a standard workspace."

VisualWorks Goodies (313K) - updated 7th Jan. 1998

James A. Robertson writes "I've attached a 'goodies' file I distribute freely to customers of
VisualWorks/VisualWave. It is 'as-is' software without support by ObjectShare, but people with questions can send email to me."

Please note; this file contains over 20 separate 'goodies' for VW.

VisualWorks 3.0 Goodies - updated 8th Mar. 1998

James A. Robertson writes "I'm sending two zip files to you. They are 'as-is' software without support by ObjectShare, but people with questions can send email to me."

vrparcels.zip (155k)
This is a set of parcels for VW 3.0. It represents an update to
similar parcels that are shipping on the VW CD in the goodies directory

Download vrparcels.zip

vrmaps.zip (2,526k)
This is the same goodies for VW 3.0, but as Envy configuration maps
instead of parcels.

Download vrmaps.zip

There are some changes from the 2.5.2 version of these goodies:

1) Some miscellaneous bug fixes.
2) Name change conventions. All classes that had been named Web... are now named VR...
This was done to more clearly show that this stuff is not VisualWave or ClassicBlend specific.
3) A number of enhancements; for instance, VRListForm now supports mult-select lists as well as
single select lists"
